Hi everyone and Happy New Year!
A few updates for you:

Digital Boost is back open for applications and they are on a first come first served basis so if you feel your organisation would benefit – apply now! If you are running a business in Scotland and want to do more with digital; for example to, increase productivity, safeguard jobs, improve cyber security, build online booking systems, develop apps or invest in hardware/software then this fund may be applicable to you.
- Businesses who are VAT registered can apply for grants of up to £25K. For VAT registered businesses all VAT costs are excluded from the grant sum awarded.
- Businesses who are not VAT registered can apply for grants of up to 5K
The application should take less than 30 minutes and all grants need to be claimed by 21st Feb. Note that the claimant is expected to contribute towards the cost of the project. For more details go to: https://www.digitalboostdevelopmentgrant.co.uk/
FSEN – Will this be the last meeting? As always at this time of year there is a question of whether anyone will fund the FSEN to keep running. It’s so frustrating as every other region seems to have this covered. Brag can’t keep pushing water uphill so this is a last ditch attempt to keep something of a network here in Fife. I have sent an email to all the people that this concerns – Economic Development and Communities departments within FC, Business Gateway, TSI/SEN and SE within Scottish Government, FVA, local MSPs and Senscot. I am hoping they will meet to discuss the future of SE in Fife but I’m doubtful anyone will actually care, especially at the moment when I know people are struggling with the problems that Covid 19 have brought. I’ve also invited them to the FSEN meeting to hear you views. I’m trying to arrange the meeting for prior to the FSEN meeting on the 26th so I can give you guys an update. If you haven’t signed up for it already, I really would urge you to do so and then any questions you have about future support or funding can be addressed before the FSEN (potentially) disappears! https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/fsen-winter-meeting-tickets-131851012929
Fife Civic Recognition Award Many individuals, private businesses, public sector workers and third sector organisations worked/are working tirelessly during the COVID-19 pandemic that emerged in March 2020. Fife Voluntary Action (FVA), in conjunction with Fife Partnership, would like to allow the people of Fife the opportunity to nominate those who deserve thanks and recognition for their efforts. Building Enterprising Boards This is a unique opportunity as a Board, to focus on how you move from good to great, supported by a facilitator with vast personal board experience. It is an opportunity to explore and progress the issues that you feel will help to strengthen you as a Board and help your organisation to be sustainable. Whether it is challenges you are currently facing as a Board or opportunities that you would like to pursue, this is a chance to commit to working together on your future. More info: https://your.socialenterprise.academy/course/view.php?id=480
That’s it for now. Hopefully I’ll get another newsletter out to you before the end of March if I don’t get chance to catch up with you at the FSEN meeting on the 26th.
As always, if you need me meantime, I’m only a button away!
