Kirkcaldy Apprenticeship Event 2019 for Parents/Carers and Young People

Each year, Skill Development Scotland organises Scottish Apprenticeship Week, a week-long celebration of apprentices and their employers, and the fantastic contributions that they make to the whole of Scotland.

This year’s Scottish Apprenticeship Week will run from 4-8 March, and to tie in with this there will be an apprenticeship-themed event at Viewforth High School.

Taking place on Thursday 7 March from 6pm until 8pm, the Kirkcaldy Apprenticeships Fair will see local parents, carers and young people come together to find out more about Foundation, Modern and Graduate Apprenticeships. We will be welcoming employers from a range of industries who recruit apprentices in the local area.

Aim: To help young people and their parents/carers in the Kirkcaldy area find out about Modern Apprenticeships and the wider Apprenticeship family and enable local employers to give information about current vacancies and future recruitment opportunities.

Date:  Thursday 7 March – Held during Scottish Apprenticeship Week

Timings:  6pm-8pm

Location: Viewforth High School, Windmill Community Campus, Windmill Road, Kirkcaldy, KY1 3AL

Audience: Parents/Carers and pupils in S4-S6 in four Kirkcaldy schools – Balwearie High School, Kirkcaldy High, St Andrews High and Viewforth High. Potentially, could also be extended to the three Glenrothes Schools –  Auchmuty High, Glenrothes High and Glenwood high plus Levenmouth Academy

Exhibitors will be able to:

·         Meet with local young people, parents and carers

·         Promote the work they do locally

·         Take applications for current vacancies

·         Hand out literature and promotional materials

·         Get involved with the local community

It is free to exhibit at the Fair – all you need to bring is materials to dress your table, a representative or two from your business and plenty of enthusiasm. We would encourage any current or past apprentices to come too to share their experiences with visitors.
